For us, function is never a constraint: it is the starting point. Every mechanism, every joint, every detail is examined, simplified, refined.
We love objects that interact with the hand, that are understood with a gesture, that naturally find their place in everyday life.
It is this exacting standard that led us to reissue the GRAS lamp by Bernard-Albin Gras , the first articulated lamp in history, the starting point of modern lighting. A balanced, intelligent, transparent lamp. An icon because it is just right.
This same attention to detail guides our switches and electrical devices: discreet yet essential objects, located between our hand and the light. Objects we touch every day, and which must be impeccable.

Drawing is the natural consequence of sound thought. It is never a stylistic effect.
We publish authors. Inventors, architects, sculptors, designers, artists. Free spirits, sometimes unclassifiable, always sincere.

MODELEC has been a French manufacturer of electrical equipment since 1976.
A human-sized industrial company, expert in the design of mechanisms and facades, MODELEC shapes raw materials with rigor and sensitivity.
