At DCW, we often speak of designer-engineers. With Ilia, we could speak of a designer-aviator. His life is divided between inventions and aviation. He is always in the air, flying between Africa and Europe. He may not have written The Little Prince, but he created ISP, his own lamp: a twenty-first-century flint in which the hand finally regains its place. It becomes both switch and dimmer. The beam of light fits in his hand, and to protect it he encloses it in a brass case, a little like ink in an inkwell.
ISP stands for Ilia Sergeevich Potemine. Interestingly, in astronautics, specific impulse, or Isp, measures a rocket engine's efficiency. ISP is truly a collector's object, rooted in the past and projected into the future. If this lamp had a sound, you can imagine what it might make.
