Charles Kalpakian

Charles Kalpakian was born in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1982. After collaborating with prestigious agencies, he launched his design studio and has since been developing his own projects.

He draws inspiration from his roots in France and Lebanon, as well as from street art culture. These influences take shape through the reinterpretation of motifs from the decorative arts, themselves inherited from Lebanon's history and geography. Charles's working style is always clean yet flexible, like the strokes of a calligraphy brush. His projects consistently highlight the richness of his heritage combined with elements of Western modernity.

“Each journey has its own ‘light’ for me, because it evokes a place at a particular moment. A desire to capture emotions and make them visible, like a painting, a drawing that one never tires of contemplating.”
