Can you introduce yourself?

My name is Dawid Lagua, I am 38 years old.
I am an interior designer and I live in Munich. Since last summer, my partner, our dog and I have been living in a 1970s bungalow that we are renovating little by little.
We hadn't planned to move, but when we discovered this house and its old garden, it was love at first sight!

What is your relationship with interior design?

I have been interested in interior design since I was very young.
I believe my grandparents had a lot to do with it.
Fresh flowers, candles lit at dinner, the warm atmosphere of the rooms…
All these little everyday things left a deep impression on me as a child.
That wonderful feeling when you come home has always inspired me.
Our home reflects exactly that: a soothing interior, conducive to relaxation

Tell us a little about your bungalow. What does this space say about you?

Natural materials – stone and wood – create a direct connection with nature. They soothe the senses after a hectic day in the city and offer a truly intimate refuge. A limited palette of colors and textures allows the mind to rest. A place of peace for the soul.

How would you describe Munari, which has found a place in your home?

When I first discovered the MUNARI lamp, it reminded me of that moment when you look up at the sky: its points of light seem to float in space, like stars. That's exactly what I mean when I talk about connecting with nature. That's how I create a real little universe in our home.

What does light evoke for you?

Light has always had a special effect on me.
I find it fascinating how she transforms a space in a few seconds, playing with shadows to change the atmosphere.
For me, light is inseparable from emotions. That's why I use multiple small light sources at home, in order to create the perfect light for every moment.

In your daily life, what are your sources of inspiration?

Travel has always been a great source of inspiration for me.
I like to observe the smallest details, and bring these little finds back into our home. I also like to take my time — sometimes, you just have to listen: the house itself tells you what it needs.
