Ilia Sergeevich Potemine

About the designer

Ilia Sergeevich Potemine is Russian. Or rather, Italian-Russian. A double identity and a dual perspective. One might think he is a designer. He is, in fact, an airline pilot. The sky is his domain, the sun his guiding star, and the earth merely a temporary stopover—just long enough to design striking luminaires conceived far from the mainstream.
