Douglas Mont
About the designer

Inspired by the imagery that Alejandro Jodorowsky developed around the cult science-fiction novel Dune, Douglas Mont is not American but French. A distant great-uncle of his, G.L. Rispal, was the founder in 1924 of the Paris-based company Rispal, which specialized in reasonably priced lighting fixtures. After decades of success and hundreds of references in its catalogue, the company eventually went out of business in 1982.
