Jacques Biny
About the designer

Jacques Biny was a leading French lighting designer of the Trente Glorieuses period (the post-war economic boom from 1945 to 1975). Unlike most designers of his time, he was also a publisher and industrial manufacturer, producing lighting designs on a large scale. He collaborated with some of the most talented emerging designers of his era, including Michel Buffet, Gustave Gauthier, Jean Boris Lacroix, and Charles Ramos. Together, they embarked on the adventure of creating modern, serially produced lighting, helping to shape a new era of contemporary lighting design.
